Our Founding Story
Live Golf was founded in 2017 by Paloma Santiago, a PGA Professional, and Frances Boisselle, a Navy Reserve Veteran, who shared a common vision and passion for supporting heroes in their journey toward mental well-being. Through their own experiences and interactions, they recognized the need for holistic support that addressed both physical and mental health challenges that those who serve—whether in the military or law enforcement—could face.
Driven by a shared belief in the transformative power of golf, Frances and Paloma set out to establish Live Golf, a Veteran-founded 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to improving the lives of our heroes through the therapeutic benefits of golf.
Their mission was clear: to provide a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment where veterans and first responders could find solace, camaraderie, and healing through golf. Recognizing that mental health challenges affect those who dedicate their lives to service, they created a program that blends physical activity, emotional support, and meaningful connections, empowering participants to heal, grow, and thrive.
At the heart of Live Golf lies its golf therapy program, which offers structured weekly sessions designed to promote both physical and mental wellness. Led by certified golf instructors and mental health professionals, these sessions provide not only golf instruction but also opportunities for group discussions, peer support, and stress relief.
Located at the peaceful Mountain View Golf Club in Ewing, New Jersey, Live Golf serves as a haven where veterans, law enforcement, and first responders come together to share experiences, build connections, and focus on their mental well-being. Through structured activities and open dialogue, Live Golf offers a space where heroes can explore personal growth, strengthen their mental resilience, and foster a sense of belonging.
The goals of Live Golf’s program are simple: to provide a safe space for learning and growth, to create a community where our heroes can support each other, and to educate on the mental health benefits of physical activity and connection.
As Live Golf’s program grew, its impact became clear; participants experienced improvements in their mental well-being, boosted self-esteem, and a renewed sense of purpose. What began as a place for healing through golf has evolved into a strong community for those who serve, where heroes find support, understanding, and a path forward.
Through their unwavering dedication and commitment, Frances and Paloma have created more than just an organization; they’ve built a family. Live Golf’s mission continues to touch the lives of countless heroes, providing a space for healing, hope, and growth for years to come.
